Senior NDT Technician at ARCTOS

Job Description:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Ability to operate NDT X-ray imaging systems including hardware and evaluation software.

  • Ability to conduct NDT X-ray inspection of aerospace components in accordance with industry standards.

  • Ability to evaluate and interpret NDT X-ray images for defects in accordance with evaluation criteria.

  • Ability to create NDT inspection procedures using X-ray CR & DR.

  • Ability to read and understand aerospace component drawings and apply to NDT inspections.

  • Basic understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing concepts.

  • Ability to create and write NDT procedures in the methods certified.

  • Intermediate proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Must be proficient in working successfully in a team environment.

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to interact with a broad range of customers.

  • Must have writing skills sufficient to create clear inspection procedures for Level 1 inspectors.

  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of guidance and consultation.
     

Experience and Education Requirements:

Required:


  • Practicing NDT at Level 3, or military 7-level, for at least 5 years in one or more NDT methods.

  • Practicing NDT at Level 2 in two or more NDT methods for at least 10 years.

  • Performing NDT at Level 2 or 3 on aerospace components for at least 5 years.

  • Developing NDT inspection techniques and transitioning (to include training) to Level 1 or 2 inspectors.

  • Certified NAS410 Level 3 in RT.

  • Current ASNT NDT Level III in RT may be considered.

Preferred:


  • Experience with X-ray Computed Tomography systems, set-up procedure and image analysis software.

  • Ability to perform scheduled maintenance on X-Ray equipment. 

  • Certified NAS410 Level 3 in PT, MT, UT, ET. 

  • Current ASNT NDT Level III in PT, MT, UT, ET may be considered.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:


  • Primary work environment is a USAF research laboratory (laboratory, office setting, off-site field/ALC).

Travel:


  • Travel may be required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
