Reporting to the Director of Cigna Pharmacy Integrated Medical Product Management and working as a key member of the team, this role is responsible for defining and driving retail network pharmacy channel strategy and initiatives to deliver lower total medical cost and better health outcomes. This leader is responsible for the strategy creation and product management activities for all size segments including Under and Over 500 market segments, National Employer, third party administrator and Individual Markets. In this role, the Sr. Advisor will serve as a product line owner and help Cigna Pharmacy Integrated Medical Product Management strategically focus on the specific and unique needs of our various market segments, and identify and introduce products and capabilities that drive continued profitable growth, client and customer savings, and better health outcomes.

Strategy, planning and execution


  • Lead development and execution of retail network pharmacy channel strategy, including managing existing products and new product builds that support the objectives of improving health outcomes and decreasing total cost of care.

  • Collaborate with peers and matrix partners within and beyond Cigna Pharmacy Integrated Medical Product Management to deliver projects in support of Cigna's mission.

Product Management leadership in support of evolving pharmacy network value


  • Define, socialize and execute affordability and health improvement initiatives that drive growth and value of Cigna pharmacy benefits, as well as integrated benefit value.

  • Represent Pharmacy Product Management across highly matrixed organization in support of work related to retail network pharmacy channel strategy.

  • Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for team members and acting as trusted advisor to peers.

  • Prioritize, plan and delegate work as appropriate to ensure effective execution of team/function deliverables.

  • Resolve issues and determine contingency plans and triggers for risks. As needed, escalate issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.

  • Partner with matrix organizations to ensure that appropriate action is taken to identify, socialize and implement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Product Management teams at Cigna, Cigna affiliates, and other partners, as well as all necessary matrix partners to deliver prioritized products and projects.

Utilize established methodology to lead the execution of multiple product deliveries for assigned portfolio of work. Where the methodology is not sufficient, create and augment with new processes and establish best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years’ experience in insurance or healthcare industry with 5+ years’ experience in pharmacy benefits, retail network pharmacy drug management experience preferred

  • 5+ years demonstrated success in business analysis, strategy development, business development and/or product development, management and delivery

  • Excellent analytic, written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to quickly translate ideas and insights into presentation-ready documents

  • Strong financial, analytic and quantitative skills; strong data-driven decision making

  • Strong business, industry and regulatory analysis skills

  • Familiarity with federal/state regulations related to pharmacy benefits

  • Comfort with complex systems and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to execute on multiple projects and excel in a results-oriented and highly-matrixed environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent meeting facilitation and organizational skills

  • This position may be located anywhere within the continental United States

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
