seeks applicants for the following position:
State Opioid Response (SOR) Prevention Coordinator
(Part-Time/Grant-Funded)
Seeking high energy and motivated candidate that is passionate about the health and wellbeing of the Rockbridge Area CSB Catchment area. Individual must possess high attention to detail, skilled in technology and building relationships with community members, knowledgeable in prevention and has the ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment.
The incumbent serves as a member of the Rockbridge Area Community Services Prevention Team, responsible for the implementation of the State Opioid Response (SOR) prevention grant. The incumbent will work with several key community members and partner organizations to carry out opioid prevention events, activities, and other initiatives outlined in the grant action plan. The incumbent is responsible for mobilizing key member groups to carry out initiatives, build capacity of the Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition with a focus on Prescription and Over-the-Counter Medication prevention, act as liaison between RACS Prevention Services and organizations to implement prescription and over-the-counter medication prevention initiatives, coordinate related projects, and work to increase community awareness around opioids, prescription and over-the-counter medications (as well as stimulants as outlined in the logic model). The person will work closely with the Prevention Services Program Manager on strategic planning and sustainability planning for the SOR Prevention grant. Microsoft Office skills are essential, must have excellent people skills and abundance of energy and enthusiasm for the topic of opioid/stimulant/over-the-counter prevention. Professional communication skills are essential. The incumbent remains informed of new and available resources and initiatives relating to opioid prevention, is accountable to the annual goals and objectives that guide the programs, fulfills obligations to Prevention Services database reporting within RACS, is accurate in securing data needed for program evaluation, and keeps program materials ordered as needed. The incumbent must work with Prevention Services Program Manager for grant reporting.
In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to exercise sound judgment to implement programs; be able to work both independently and as a team member; and maintain confidentiality. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Prevention Services Program Manager.
Qualifications: Possession of bachelor's degree in related human services field from an accredited college or university is required. Experience working with youth or in related prevention field preferred.
