GENERAL SUMMARY:
A research lab within Brigham and Women's Cardiovascular Medicine division is looking for a highly-motivated research technician. The candidate will work with staff scientists on a multicenter program that builds on our recent identification of three new classes of cyanide countermeasures. The candidatewill participate in studiesthatdefine their mechanisms of action. Working independently and under the direction of staff scientists, the candidate willconduct chemical screens and biochemical assaysin zebrafish to evaluate the efficacy of therapeutic leads and determine their mechanism of action.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
* Sound analytical and organizational skills.
* Requires good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to identify potential problems and trouble-shoot solutions.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze data statistically and to logically present it.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS or BA in a relevant field is required.
At least one year of work experience in research setting. Sound independent judgement and competence in research methodologies.
