BGISis currently seeking aSafety Technicianto join the team as a member of our growing critical facility management division.


Purpose Statement:Creates processes to reportsafety metrics. Develops, recommends, and financially justifies safety and risk strategies


RESPONSIBILITIES


Support



  • Provides support for claims counsel for claims management, insurance, or loss control consultation and liaise with risk on incident data and on cost of claims.

  • Assists team members in the formatting and development of safety programs and related materials and maintains the inventory of such along with the web pages holding the program content.

  • Support the safety team and business units through safety risk assessments and analytics, sensitivity analysis, investigations, and safety metric performance analysis.

  • Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with company and industry guidance.

  • Support the implementation/rollout of programs, policies, procedures and their system management to enable compliance, injury reduction and sustainable management system elements.

  • Assist safety department with online webinar hosting.


Analysis and Reporting



  • Develops, implements, and reviews Company's safety data management systems. Provides analysis on the safety health of the company using a risk-based approach.

  • Collaborates with external agencies to research, develop, identify, and integrate innovative and industry leading methods in safety risk management.

  • Develops risk modelsbased on safety and statistical inferences.

  • Conducts annual safety climate surveys of all employees and selected general and sub-contractors. Develops annual survey study for executive management.

  • Develops safety risk assessments to deliver solutions to safety related issues - distinguish McKinstry as a leader in World Class Safety.

  • Works with Corporate IT to manage all aspects of the safety systems.

  • Contributes to the development of analytic standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and reference materials.

  • Develops and manages Safety and Health webpage on Employee Portal.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data analysis and statistics for Safety Department.

  • Apply data mining, advanced statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and forecasting skills to analyze current and historical pre-cursors to make predictions about future events.

  • Maintains database tracking safety events and the analysis of those events.

  • Collects and analyzes data related to hazard assessments, ongoing hazard identifications, and incident investigations.

  • Conducts occupational safety data audits and serve as a validation analyst.

  • Serves as the focal point for safety information regarding the status of reports.

  • Other duties as assigned.



REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES



  • Three (3) or more years of experience in analyzing and auditing raw data and creating report summaries required.

  • Two (2) years of experience in safety inspections in large-scale projects or corporate level required.

  • Five (5) years of experience in construction industry in large-scale projects preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; Master's preferred.

  • Able to work well all levels of internal personnel and personalities and external customers preferred.

  • Able to work well all levels of internal personnel and personalities and external customers preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

  • Able to work well all levels of internal personnel and personalities and external customers preferred.



Physical Demands and Work Environment



  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally.



  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office.
