Position Description:
The Instrumentation Systems (IS) Business Unit is seeking a strong Regional Sales Manager with a proven track record of success to join us in the Midwest Region of the US. The Chicago, St Louis or Indianapolis areas are preferred locations with the ideal candidate being located within a few hours driving distance to Peoria, IL. This individual will embrace a sales hunter mentality to successfully integrate in this global, multi-site business unit focused on industrial vehicles, selling vehicular instrumentation, graphics displays, message centers and CAN modules into construction, heavy truck, agriculture, military, specialty and bus/coach/RV vehicle applications. The sales organization consists of regional sales managers and will report to the Director of Sales. Candidates for this position must be willing to travel up to 50-75% and work out of his/her home office in the Midwest Region USA.

• Develop wins strategies for new business pursuits for assigned territories
• Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities
• Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities in assigned territory
• Perform tactical functions: prepare multiyear quote proposals, manage sales/engineering/customer interface, establish pricing, perform negotiations, review contracts and perform marketing analysis
• Manage customers and the associated pipeline of opportunities in Microsoft Dynamics
• Manage relations with outside sales reps and intercompany AMETEK sales team
• Communicate BU goals, objectives and feedback to Divisional Key Accounts
• Ensure that the sales channel supports new product development goals of engineering and growth objectives of the business short-, mid- and long-term
• Establishes and maintains key customer relations and knowledge of new development programs and customer timelines. Able to support Tier, 1,2 or 3 accounts with thorough and incisive knowledge of the customers’ supply chain processes
• Support financial reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements; provide regular communication on key programs in pursuit portfolio

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree is required; BS in Engineering is strongly preferred
• MBA is a plus
• 5+ years’ experience in sales and business experience in a business to business environment and within the instrumentation, construction and/or heavy vehicle industry
• Experience working in industrial and food service equipment industries is a plus
• Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
• Highly collaborative individual with outstanding communication and networking skills
• Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: presentation, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization
• Looking for a hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture
• Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
• The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally
• Computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Proficient in the use of a CRM, MS Dynamics a plus.
• Travel: must be willing to travel up to 50-75% of the time both domestically and internationally
• Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or Green card holders
