The Open Door Mission is a gospel rescue mission providing basic needs and life-changing programs for the homeless and needy. We are privileged to see broken lives transformed every day through the good news of Jesus Christ. Our Outreach Center team serves community families to supply free food, clothing, furniture, diapers, and other necessities on a monthly basis. These income supplements allow more money to go toward bills, helping these families avoid homelessness.
YOU ARE A SOLID FIT FOR THIS POSITION IF:
You have a visible relationship with Christ, and regular attendance at a local church.
You have the ability to share the Gospel as opportunities arise.
You are proficient with Google G-Suite and general computer operations.
You are a people person who can both lead large groups and work one-on-one with volunteers.
OUR IDEA OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE IS SOMEONE WHO:
Has experience with volunteer facilitation.
Has customer service experience.
Has a eye for detail and predicting what needs to be done.
Has the ability to articulate well and develop ideas.
Is able to remain flexible with an open attitude.
THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Greeting Outreach Center volunteers and facilitating their projects during their scheduled time.
Working with Outreach Front Desk Staff to manage flow of clients and helping to ensure a quality and dignified experience.
Assisting with stocking, sorting, and organizing of Outreach Center shelves with home goods, clothing, food, toys, and other items as needed.
Providing spiritual help and encouragement to volunteers and clients when the opportunity arises.
Coordinating with ODM's Receiving Department to ensure good stewardship practices/usage of gift-in-kind donations.

Must be a born again, mature Christian able to clearly communicate the Gospel as opportunities during the work day arise. (1 Peter 2:21 and 1 Peter 3:15) Must have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless and the urban poor of Omaha with a compassionate heart.
