The Production Superintendent will be responsible for the 24/7 operation of the crews in their respective areas. The successful candidate will be accountable for Environmental, Health, and Safety results, productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity, and customer delivery through implementation of Lean Manufacturing or ABS principles, including Daily Management, TPM, 5S, etc. He/she will ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems in order to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity. The Superintendent will work with superintendents in other departments to assure overall plant success. The Superintendent will work to ensure the execution of any of the financial goals and expectations set for each respective year. The Superintendent will be responsible for planning and sometimes leading Kaizens, TPM, and safety events in his/her areas. Front-line supervisors report directly to the Production Superintendent. He/she will be responsible for coaching and counseling supervisors and any other staff personnel in his/her area.Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for labor issues within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment.  Hands on experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma is a plus.   A working knowledge of casting process including: chemistry calculations, scrap utilization, skim/dross management, environmental regulations, metal planning, and standards based operating is desired.  BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Business, or other 4-year degree (EET or MET) required.
