Associate, Disputes and Investigations

Position

A&M’s Disputes and Investigations (DI) practice provides forensic accounting and dispute advisory services to clients within a wide variety of industries.  The practice brings a practical, results-oriented approach to solving problems related to forensic accounting investigations, financial disputes, regulatory interventions, and technical accounting issues.  The successful candidate will work primarily within a team whose practice focuses on financial market regulation, trading, and market conduct investigations. 

The DI practice is seeking and Associate for the Boston, New York, or Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities


  • Analyze data and documentation pertaining to financial market investigations or commercial disputes

  • Identify key finance and economic issues with respect to complex business transactions

  • Assist with compilation of documentation regarding investigations or commercial disputes

  • Create quantitative models based on business issues or transactions being analyzed

  • Assist with drafting reports and findings including the preparation of tables, exhibits, and charts

  • Assist with researching technical and industry specific issues

  • Balance multiple client projects and other responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively to all levels of engagement management

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative discipline

  • Knowledge of or strong interest in financial markets and trading (e.g., commodities, equities, fixed income, etc.)

  • Strong data analysis capabilities and experience working with programming languages such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, or others

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Excellence in academics, both within major and overall

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Strong communication skills including, excellent oral and written presentation skills
