Job Description:

Basic Purpose/Job Function: Assist Associate and Assistant Directors in the Office of Academic Integrity in developing and implementing student academic programs and functions.  Typical functions may include:


  1. Assisting and advising Integrity Council investigations in contested academic integrity cases.

  2. Assisting and/or independently conducting mandatory informational meetings with students reported for Academic Integrity Code violations

  3. Assisting with scheduling and conducting hearings under the Academic Integrity Code. 

  4. Assisting and/or independently teaching required integrity awareness classes.

  5. Assisting and/or independently conducting presentations for students, staff, and faculty about OU’s academic integrity system and expectations.

  6. Assisting in advisement of the Integrity Council, the student organization responsible for articulating and upholding community standards of academic integrity on the Norman Campus.

  7. Assisting and/or independently developing social media and other forms of outreach for students and faculty.

  8. Assisting in correspondence and recordkeeping. 

 

Required Education: Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND: 


  • 30-48  months of experience in student service, advisement, or instruction

Skills:


  • Ability to learn and implement Academic Integrity Code and related policy and procedures.  

  • Ability to learn OU procedures for student enrollment, course attendance, course withdrawal, grading, and recordkeeping.  

  • Ability to learn relevant compliance requirements, for example FERPA, Open Records, and due process in hearings.  

  • Ability to advise students and conduct a class.  

  • Oral and written communication skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and Zoom.  

  • Ability to work independently.  

  • Hours will include some evenings and weekends for student advising.

  • Occasional in-state travel is possible.

Advertised Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to reach, stand, engage in repetitive motions, grasp, feel, touch, communicate, see including color, depth perception or clarity, and hear including receiving detailed information orally or making fine discriminations in sound. 

Department Preferences: 


  • Bachelors and graduate degree attained or some graduate work completed.  

  • Familiarity with Academic Integrity Code or equivalent disciplinary policy in higher education setting.  

  • Familiarity with conducting hearings and other disciplinary processes.  

  • Superior oral and written communication, demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and sensitively with faculty, students, and parents. 


Supervision: No supervisory duties
