What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

 As a Senior Project Architect on our Architecture team, you will be involved in the design process from start to finish of a project.  This position will be suited to work on a variety of project types and complexities.  Projects at OHM are exciting!  They are unique projects with the singular goal of Advancing Communities. 

You will be working with a team of exceptional architects, engineers,  urban designers, and first-class clients on projects that improve the lives of those living in the communities we serve.  Our projects include municipal, K-12, Higher Education, multi-family housing, healthcare, hospitality, residential, medical, and office uses.  

Your Responsibilities

 Project Technical Expertise


  • Provides high-level technical expertise and mentoring on projects

  • Develops work plans, schedules, and budgets for PM related to technical tasks of a Scope of Services

  • Performs quality assurance and quality control of project deliverables as determined by the PM

  • Completes complex technical tasks and computations

  • Identifies and solves complex technical issues related to projects to minimize project risk

  • For single-discipline and highly technical projects, performs some project management duties

Discipline Technical Expertise


  • Stays abreast of and maintains expertise in industry-specific standards, codes, permit agency requirements, and community requirements

  • Continues to advance the firm through professional leadership and training staff

  • Occasionally may publish papers, articles, and other technical documents and speak at conferences on high-level technical topics and emerging technologies

  • Develops marketing and business development information and strategies in their area of expertise for Practice Leaders and coordinates with PICs and PMs to generate new business.

 Maintain Client Satisfaction


  • Possesses a strong understanding of OHM services and relate to our clients’ needs.

  • Informs and discusses potential technical issues with PIC, PM, or client and taking appropriate action to solve the project’s technical related issues.

  • Obtains repeat work from clients via local/regional reputation as a senior professional/technical expert.

  • Anticipates technical issues before they become problems, including advising the PIC, PM, or client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving technical issues.

  • Effectively communicate goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes related to their technical expertise to project team, client, and public (memos, reports, presentations, etc.).

 What You’ll Need to Succeed


  • Significant experience with one or more of our core project types

  • Professional Registration

  • Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture), required                                                                                

  • Able to assist with business development efforts

  • LEED-Accredited Professional preferred


  • Experienced in architectural design, detailing, and documentation of new building, restoration, and renovation projects.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including mentoring of less-experienced staff.

  • Prior experience as a project team leader, studio leader, or principal a plus.

  • Knowledge and practical experience in the application of design procedures, practices, and standards

  • Must be experienced in architectural design, detailing and documentation of the new building, restoration and renovation projects

  • 10 year(s): Architectural experience
