If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will collaborate with marketing and sales in the generation of product requirements in order to develop innovative concepts and ideas. You will design, build and test concepts for new products, as well as generate engineering documents, assembly drawings and installation instructions. You will participate on a team to develop new products and / or improve existing products and resolve technical problems on projcets.

AS A MECHATRONIC DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 

 


  • Collaborate with team members to iteratively visualize new product concepts through sketches, storyboards, andbModels

  • Communicate with others (local or global) in a timely and thorough manner

  • Lead task analysis process to uncover innovation opportunities and define user requirements

  • Perform competitive benchmarking to identify and assess best of breed designs

  • Provide direction and/or mentor others (local or global) in industrial design and development of electronic enclosures for our product

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Minimum two (2) years engineering or related technical experience

  • Ability to produce 3D concepts

  • Ability to design and evaluate innovative design concepts

  • Ability to generate multiple design options to solve a design or manufacturing problem

  • Basic knowledge of a documentation system

  • Basic knowledge of a PLM system

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided. 


 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Five (5) years engineering or related technical experience

  • Experience using Siemens NX CAD software

  • Experience using Siemens Teamcenter

  • Exposure to manufacturing environment involving plastics and or electronics

  • Experience with LCDs, interconnection technology, switch technologies, materials, injection molding and tool design

  • Familiar with Lean Design principles

  • Experience with 3D printing and 3D scanning

  • Experience reviewing and analyzing and inspection data
