TOOLMAKER

If you are an experienced Toolmaker looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Manufacturer of large custom-designed control valves, you will work in a dynamic and high-tech production facility based in our Marshalltown, Iowa location.

AS A TOOLMAKER YOU WILL: 


  • Work safely and adhere to safety rules and policies at all times
  • Maintain equipment with daily cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Set up machines in accordance with tooling drawings, component blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Complete in-process measurements and offset adjustments to ensure finished parts meet dimensional requirements
  • Complete tooling inspections in accordance with quality assurance procedures
  • Communicate and interact with Engineers, Supervisors, and other personnel to resolve issues, develop new processes, or trial new tooling packages
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support customer needs and company goals

WHO YOU ARE:

Successful applicants may operate and program CNC machines and work with a variety of Horizontal Lathes, Horizontal Boring Mills, Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers and Grinders.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of machining concepts, practices, and processes
  • Print reading and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Use of precision measurement tools and gages
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications and instructions
  • Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
  • Thorough understanding of metallic properties
  • Ability to work independently and with Engineers and Supervisors

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Associates Degree in Machine Trades or Tool & Die preferred
  • Journeyman DOL Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of experience working with machinery such as mills, lathes, or grinders preferred
