Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:


  1. Setting up dies, making adjustments, changing or taking out dies as jobs conclude. Change out ball lock punches and matrix.  Making sure dies are secured, tight and running safely and precisely to produce quality parts.  Troubleshooting quality issues.

  2. Checks first five parts of every run and measures against Statistical Process Control Charts to be sure they are meeting all the required specifications and are free of any blemishes, marks, etc. Gage to proper standards of that Product Center. Record required production and safety checks.

  3. Taping dies and magnets. Knowledge in scrap metal clean out process. Inch press forward and back up with knowledge of SmartPac

  4. Adjust robot on rotary table as part of the transfer system. Troubleshoot stackers.

  5. Maintain robots functionality and understand operations.

  6. Assists Die Setter B or A on major changeovers as needed. Change steel over with little to no help.

  7. Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

  8. Other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Education, Skills and Experience:

Ability to do Statistical Process Control Charts (SPC); linear measuring; problem solving; math and blueprint reading; and pay attention to detail.  Basic computer skills.

Prefer experience in die setting and training in: Statistical Process Control, Linear Measurement, Problem Solving Training, High Lift Training and Die Setter Training Classes. CBT safety trainings, Safety Inspection Authorized Lockout/Tag out, Factivity, Paging System, Crane and Hoist.

(high lift), Hearing, Holding, Inserting, Lifting (50 lbs.), Locking & Unlocking, Opening & Closing, Pounding, Pulling & Pushing (1000 lbs.), Reaching, Reading, Removing, Seeing, Stretching, Stooping, Standing, Threading, Turning & Twisting, Walking and Writing.

Must be able and comfortable entering tight spaces around machinery.

Must be able to climb in and out of die area which is located inside the press. 

Non-essential physical tasks may include the following:  Cleaning, Collating, Dialing, Filing, Folding & Unfolding, Maintaining, Scheduling, Sorting, Speaking, Sweeping, Stapling, Turning Pages and Welding.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn including but not limited to: eyes, ear, foot and/or other protective devices as required.
