About the Role:

The Credit Risk Analyst I (2-Year Assignment) Role is a two-year position, which will conclude after your second year of employment. Under direct oversight, the Credit Risk Analyst I supports the Discount Window and Collateral functions in the Credit Risk and Reserves Management Department. You will help analyze collateral pledged to the Discount Window by District depository institutions. The Discount Window is the Federal Reserve's facility for extending credit to eligible depository institutions. Under direct oversight, assist with the Payment System Risk and Condition Monitoring functions. May serve in a participant role or assist other participants on System and District projects and workgroups that supports the department's functions. You will report to the Assistant Director, Discount and Credit.

You Will:


  • Help with the operation, administration and compliance with Discount Window activities
  • Communicate with depository institutions regarding routine Discount Window loan requests and collateral deposit and withdrawal activity
  • Help with borrower-in-custody reviews for Discount Window, TT&L and PSR collateral; receive and prepare collateral revaluation data for processing
  • Helps establish new borrower-in-custody arrangements under the direct supervision of more experienced staff
  • Receive OC-10 Borrowing Documents from depository institutions, reviews for accuracy, and after review by a more senior analyst, enters information into Accounts, Risk, and Credit System
  • Helps perform tasks related to Payment System Risk including establishment and renewal of daylight overdraft caps, monitoring intraday credit usage, applying appropriate charges and counseling institutions when daylight overdrafts occur
  • Helps perform tasks related to Condition Monitoring under the supervision of more senior staff

You Have:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • One year of experience focused on financial analysis or equivalent credit risk management experience focused on collateral analysis and operations or financial institution analysis
  • Working knowledge of general credit, lending, and collateral management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial institution balance sheet and income statements and the proficiency to summarize them or develop this skill over time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to assist more senior staff in preparing analyses for management
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
