Candidate must be familiar with environmental specifications and environmental requirements/regulations for the permitting, development, and implementation of utility (Electrical, Gas, Telecommunications & Renewables) construction projects. Be knowledgeable with applicable federal, state, and municipal environmental laws, regulations, codes, and standards related to utility construction projects. Work closely with Project Management and Construction Team to ensure successful environmental compliance throughout project implementation and completion. Coordinate communications between Henkels & McCoy, customers, and agencies as necessary.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and municipal environmental rules and regulations for utility construction projects
  • Lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance best practices, policies, and initiatives to ensure safe working conditions and comprehensive environmental practices in Pipeline operations
  • Coordinate and manage environmental permits as needed throughout construction and restoration activities, including but not limited to local water permits for hydrostatic testing
  • Travel to utility construction projects to monitor and assist with project environmental needs
  • Coordinate and manage emergency environmental response planning and reporting requirements
  • Provide technical input on project submittals and monitor project compliance
  • Ensure continuous improvement of environmental compliance

REQUIREMENTS


  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Compliance, Environmental Management, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of environmental compliance or management experience
  • Relevant experience in utility construction industry preferred
  • Knowledge of US regulations per Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Environmental Protection, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and associated agencies
  • Knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Properties Act
  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing environmental regulatory processes
  • Understanding of permit regulations and ability to communicate requirements to field and project employees
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and emergency response regulations and requirements
  • Ability to develop and conduct compliance training
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing environmental assessment reports, as well as experience analyzing and tabulating technical data
  • Excellent leadership, program, and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with various management systems
  • Ability to travel overnight 80% of the time
