The scientist will work in a highly matrixed and collaborative environment that relies on the close interactions with the entire IO Biology research team and other functional teams within the organization. A successful candidate will help identify and assess innovative opportunities including those with potential academic and industry collaborators with the goal of developing and executing on the identification of new targets for advancement into the drug discovery portfolio. The candidate will be responsible for working independently to designing well-controlled experiments to support drug target identification and validation studies. Key responsibilities will include independent and collaboratively executing, analyzing and interpreting data from studies designed to understand i) target biology relevant to drug discovery ii) mechanisms of action and iii) proof-of-concept studies. In addition, the candidate will continue to explore and introduce new technological tools and/or methods to further expand the group’s immune-related technical capabilities.
