The Field Blade Repair Technician is responsible for damage assessment, repair, finishing, and inspection of wind turbine blades at wind farm locations throughout the United States.

Primary Responsibilities:
Completing multiple layer blade repairs in the field.
Perform wet layup.
Removal of defect areas.
Planning repair build up.
Wet layup or infusion of glass back into blade.
Sanding of repair to blend into rest of blade.
Working with engineering and quality to establish best way to repair defects for repairs.
Understanding of repair instructions and performing the proper repair based on the information of the defect in the nonconformance report.
Completion of repair detail sheets for each repair performed.
Qualifications:
Experience in blade repair at wind farms preferred.
Self-rescue certification and First Aid/CPR preferred.
Current OSHA 10 minimum, down tower, and up tower certifications; uptower certification preferred.
Ability to understand and follow repair instructions.
Experience in blade repair & composite chemicals.
Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain safe work environment and to follow applicable safety standards and procedures.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and to work in confined spaces.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Willingness to work in the field and away from home on a consistent basis.
