What does this role look like?


  • You will be responsible for managing and coordinating logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer operations while ensuring adherence to cost saving initiatives for the assigned business unit.

  • Develop strategic plans and implement processes which result in improved services and financial results of the PR warehouse.

  • Ensure adherence to government compliance as it relates to local, state, and federal laws.

  • Responsible for HSSE management at the sites of responsibility.

  • Examine data to monitor performance and plan improvements of the operations.

  • Direct and manage warehouse and delivery team while overseeing, coordinating, allocating and managing staff resources.

  • Have physical presence in the warehouse field at least a quarter of a work week.

  • Communicate the policies set forth by Crowley to vendors and maintain customer relations.

  • Audit documents and rates while ensuring quality and accuracy to meet customer compliance.

  • Respond to customer needs and handle complex problems.

  • Accountable for financial results, quoting, pricing and settlements for area of responsibility.

  • Ability to give guidance and support to staff including holding them accountable as well as developing them for growth.

  • Create an environment where staff is motivated to do their best.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, logistics or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years' experience within a logistics organization in the areas of warehouse or international transportation preferred.


TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.


  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and various relative computer programs.


COMPETENCIES:


  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing in English and Spanish.


  • Strategic leader who can establish and maintain effective working relationships.


  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.


  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines.


  • Ability to perform accurately in a detailed oriented environment.


  • Ability to function effectively with or as part of a team.


  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of environmental and legal issues that affect transportation of various commodities.


  • Ability to apply strong communication, organizational, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop others.


  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of DOT regulations.


  • Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.


  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines.


  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of import forwarding in a domestic and/or international capacity.


  • Knowledge of the processes involved with inventory management and control.

Working Conditions

Normal office & warehouse environment with some exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.

The position is Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. All work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health, are expected to be respected and complied with.
