Summary/Objective: The Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the organization.

Responsibilities
Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
Process year end 1099’s
Must exercise reasonable and professional discretion and independent judgement with respect to Better Community Living’s personnel information, and must adhere at all times to BCL’s Written Information Security Program.
Other related duties as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Occasional travel required.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Business or Accounting Degree preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a current, valid, US driver’s license.
Must be able to successfully pass a CORI check and a Driving Record Check.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations governing a DDS contracted agency preferred
Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred
Blackbaud experience preferred
Proficient in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Suite
