Job Description
Nextracker is seeking a Reveue & Technical Accounting Manager will be based in Fremont, CA. We are looking to hire an experienced professional to jump-in with his/her technical knowledge into key problem-solving situations to deliver quality and detail-oriented results to the team. The Revenue and Technical Accounting Manager will be based in our NEXTracker headquarters located in Fremont, CA. This position will lead the technical accounting, reporting and revenue practices at NEXTracker and work directly with the Flex Corporate Accounting Team to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. This is an important and high-profile position that will play a critical role in revenue recognition and technical accounting and will participate in numerous special projects. This role will report directly to the NEXTracker Controller with dotted line reporting to the Flex Corporate Accounting team under the Flex Chief Accounting Officer.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Review sales contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies
Support technical aspects for contract negotiation, advise on transaction structure to align contract terms and business objectives
Evaluate current revenue processes, accounting, controls, systems and procedures to identify scalable alternatives for improvement
Manage standard selling price, deferred revenue, extended warranties and other revenue recognition related analysis through close collaboration with operations and sales team
Perform and review monthly account analyses and reconciliations, including validating deferred revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, warranty reserve and other contract related financial statement balances
Support revenue forecast process to ensure accurate forecast aligning with appropriate US GAAP and internal policies
Research, resolve and operationalize complex and non-routine accounting transactions
Serve as the key contact and work closely with Flex technical accounting team in determining the appropriate accounting treatment on various processes
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams
Engage with external and internal auditors to address audit requirements

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
BA/BS in business, accounting, or related field
CPA license required
Minimum 5+ years of related experience; previous Big 4 (or equivalent) experience
Advanced Knowledge of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers; previous experience of revenue accounting for solar projects and/or software a plus.
Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP as well as experience with technical research
Experience with warranty reserves and externed warranty a plus
Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
Experience with NetSuite, SAP or BPC is a plus
Highly proficient with Excel and comfortable working with different IT applications
