Job Description:

GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

We’re looking for a full-time iOS Software Engineer 1 to join the Garmin Golf Apps team at our headquarters in Olathe, KS. As a member of our team, you’ll participate in the development of Garmin applications using modern software development practices, coding standards, and release processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Writing, testing, and debugging Swift code


• Using tools such as Xcode, Git, Bitbucket, and Jira in the software development process


• Architecting and implementing designs for software components within a larger project


• Participating in peer code reviews


• Providing reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques


• Estimating level of effort, evaluating new options of similar technology, and offering suggestions to improve processes


• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders around the world

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another relevant engineering/technical field from a four-year college or university OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.

Other qualifications include:

• Demonstrated experience designing, writing, testing, and debugging object-oriented and/or protocol-oriented code in Swift


• Proficiency with Apple iOS SDK frameworks such as Foundation, UIKit, and Core Data


• Proficiency interacting with RESTful APIs using JSON


• Experience integrating and maintaining third-party software packages


• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and prioritize work for multiple simultaneous projects

Preferred qualifications include:

• Interest in and familiarity with golf


• Experience with computer graphics development platforms such as Unity


• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and the app deployment process
