Special Projects Associate, Property Management

Position Description:

The Special Projects Associate will report to and work closely with TCB's EVP of Property Management, with a primary purpose of the job being to add capacity to help the EVP advance the most important commitments and priorities of TCB Property Management. This individual will be a participant in the TCB Property Management Leadership Team.

The Special Projects Associate will take on a wide range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be an individual who can manage a broad range of ongoing priorities and will be comfortable working independently based on initial direction from the EVP.

The Special Projects Associate will help conduct research, develop key documents and presentations, and support TCB's Property Management Business Plan and TCB's overall mission of sustaining strong communities. You will have an opportunity to grow your skillset as you serve as an important resource to the EVP. Essential Functions:


- Work collaboratively with our team on the design, presentation, documentation and ongoing communication of Property Management's Business Plan.

- Help monitor Property Management metrics and help build processes to help us meet our metrics; ex. Resident Customer Service Satisfaction Rating (KPI).

- Analyze and make recommendations back to EVP and other senior staff on key business issues. Examples include analysis of organization structure and Property Management/Community Life working relationship.

- Research, analyze, evaluate, generate, and present planning and housing ideas with limited oversight.

- Develop complex analytical, technical, and illustrative graphics, drawings, for use in reports and various other communications.

- Research and develop presentations and documents for use by EVP and/or other property management staff in both internal and external settings.

- Manage other special projects assigned by the EVP, including in relation to Property Management's Business Plan.

- Undertake ad-hoc analysis and decision support.

- Provide other members of the Property Management VPs, Directors, and Managers in moving projects forward by assisting with information gathering, developing and monitoring plans, keeping track of responsibilities, and so on.

- Take on other tasks as needed based on the priorities of the EVP.

Knowledge, skills and abilities


- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Very solid analytical skills, including financial analytic skills. Confidence in reaching decisions and making recommendations based upon your analysis.

- Preferred proficiency in ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite Excel, and strong analytic skills using R studio.

- Ability to expand the possible range of analysis by using spatial and statistical methods - such as network analysis, suitability analysis, and other geospatial processes - to support Property Management in implementing business plan.

- Keen judgment and emotional intelligence.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the confidence to work effectively with individuals at all levels or the organization.

- Strong personal organization, ability to balance management of long-term projects with tight timeline assignments.

- A self-starter and quick learner who can work independently and is comfortable taking ideas and running with them.

- A high level of maturity, including comfort with dealing with confidential information when needed.

Education and experience


- Minimum Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent stable professional experience. A degree / background in Property Management, Community Development or Real Estate Development would be desirable.

- Experience in affordable housing and/or community development strongly preferred.
