We are currently hiring a Supply Chain Transformation Transportation Lead in Boston, MA.

The Supply Chain Transformation (SCT) is re-designing, building, and implementing the new way of ensuring our products get to the docks of our Customers and into the hands of our Drinkers. This will be a 2-3-year journey to bring processes, skill sets, tools and systems to the hands of all our Supply Chain team members. We are looking for the right mix of energy, skills, experience, and drive to complete this journey with the highest of quality.

The Transportation Lead will be responsible to embody best practices for the SCT team, being the voice and representation in the build of our end to end processes and tools. These best practices would provide Boston Beer with the vision to enable an optimized transportation network and ensure a Transportation plan is established in accordance with manufacturing and customer needs and requirements in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

What You'll Do:

- Provides leadership and direction on the best practices required to build and maintain a transportation network and create a sustainable, reliable and optimized transportation plan for all inbound, outbound, interplant, and return shipments.

- Will also provide direction for measuring transportation network health and success to drive accountability with partners, improve decision making, and reduce cost.

- Will also provide guidance on modeling and analyzing alternative scenarios and/or exception handling.

- Leads and represents these practices during design and build sessions of processes and tools.

- Ensures the ties to the upstream and downstream areas to the transportation management process are kept intact during design and implementation.

- Translates to the current and full supply chain staff the differences in what is done in today's Boston Beer Company transportation management practices versus what will be used tomorrow.

- Participates in the communication of changes to come, the testing, implementation and training on the best practices and tools.

- Ensures that proper metrics are designed and understood to drive continuous improvement within transportation management.

- Works collaboratively across matrixed organizations, multiple projects, and with implementation partners.

- Proactively communicates any foreseen hurdles, barriers, or complications to implementation or the path forward.

What We're Looking For:

- Bachelor's degree from accredited school

- Degreed area of focus from Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, or related field.

- Minimum of 7-10 years Transportation Mgmt., Shipping, or Logistics experience, or some combination thereof.

- Experience in a high volume, fast moving CPG environment, preferably within Food & Beverage and with multiple mode methods (i.e. over the road, rail, etc.).

- Proven track record of learning and implementing good business processes and systems.

- Proven track record in driving continuous improvements within areas of responsibility, delivering sustained results and embedded behaviors.

- Proven success in leading and collaborating in complex cross functional teams.

- Practical knowledge of transportation planning, load management and optimization, sales and distribution processes.

- Practical knowledge of carrier procurement, selection, and tendering.

- Working knowledge of TMS systems (SAP, Manhattan, TMC)

- Demonstrated experience in budget management and ability to recognize and implement cost savings.

- Demonstrated experience in upstream or downstream functions and steps within the supply chain

- Problem solving and decision making

- Data analysis/analytics experience

- Knowledge of a formal continuous improvement methodology/set of principles (ex. Lean, TPM, TPS, Six Sigma)

- Strong verbal and written communications

- Collaboration

- Indirect influencing

- Business acumen
