Job Summary

The department of Pharmaceutical Services at Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion Campuses, provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the Medical Center as well as its providers and payers. This position is responsible for timely processing of wholesaler and direct vendor invoices and credit memos and ensures the Medical Center receives the full amount volume discounts. The pharmacy spends approximately $7 million per month, $90 million annually in pharmaceutical supplies.
Additional responsibilities Include but are not limited to the assistance and participation in the procurement and storage of pharmaceutical products, ad hoc reporting and interdepartmental and patient billing. This position also responsible for narcotic purchasing for all Medical Center locations.

Required Qualifications

* Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in finance, administration and/or accounting.

* Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.

* Bachelors degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

* Thorough knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.

* Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.

* Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

* Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

* Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

* Leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.

* Ability to maintain relationships across departments and with vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

* Maintain substantial knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical brand and generic pharmaceuticals.

* Experience as a pharmacy technician

* California pharmacy technician license

* Certified pharmacy technician certification CPhT designation
