Primary Purpose:

The Ambulatory Triage Nurse is primarily responsible for receiving and triaging incoming clinical calls for various UC Health Ambulatory departments. The Ambulatory Triage Nurse is responsible for medical triage of calls from patients who are presenting with symptoms using established protocols and providing specific guidance based on these protocols so that the patient is advised of the appropriate level of care. The Ambulatory Triage Nurse plays an integral role in the management of patients' care in the ambulatory setting and is expected to collaborate with UC Health providers and staff members to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient care.

Education: ASN, minimum required. BSN, preferred.

Required certifications: Minimum required: Licensed RN in state of Ohio.
Kentucky and Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required within 30 days of hire
Healthcare Provider CPR Certification

Years of Experience: Minimum Required: 3-5 years experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Preferred::2 years in an acute care setting as a Registered Nurse (RN)

R equired skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of electronic health records, specifically EPIC.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Technically savvy and comfortable learning how to use various telephonic hardware and software (to handle incoming calls).
Works well in stressful, urgent situations
