Job Title: Seasonal Ground Operations Agent

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks. Performs manual loading and unloading of cargo or passenger aircraft as part of a crew of aircraft handlers. Understand and demonstrates a commitment to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority’s Strategic Blueprint and Core Values.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.



  •  Loads and unloads cargo aircraft, baggage, freight, operate ground service equipment (including but not limited to loaders, tugs, belt loaders, lavatory carts and potable water carts)

  •  Completes airline specific tasks

  •   Maintains machinery and vehicles in proper operating condition needed to service aircraft.

  •  Maintains facility and equipment cleanliness before and after operations.

  •  Maintains security awareness and hazardous materials awareness appropriate to the airport and aircraft environment.

  •  Cleans aircraft and properly disposes of regulated garbage.

  •  Reports ant discrepancies and concerns to FBO management for resolution.

  •  Completes or verifies appropriate forms, documents, labels and other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory, monitor and track material and successful receiving and/or delivery of goods to warehousing.

  •  Identifies potential operational concerns, notifies appropriate co-workers/supervisors and assists with resolving problems.

  •  Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures and a safe and effective work environment.

  •  Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times, such as working collaboratively, providing timely communications and instruction and assisting with operations as necessary.

  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience


  • High school Diploma or GED required.

  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License in good standing.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.

  • Consistently be at work and on time.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

  • Required to pass a criminal background check in order to receive an airport badge.

Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift, depending on operational needs. May be working in a warehouse or open-air setting near aircraft.
