Your Position:

Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Systems Engineer for John Deere, you will develop vehicle electrical systems on Sugar Cane Harvesting equipment. You will work closely with supply management, quality, PV&V, program management, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development and continuous improvement processes.


  • Develop electrical systems requirements in collaboration with module teams.
  • Develop system level requirements and work with electrical system domain owners for Specialty Harvesting teams.
  • Provide build support for mule, feasibility, durability, limited production, and production builds.
  • Create and organize bills of materials for electrical systems on vehicles.
  • Release components into the John Deere production system.
  • Work with external (outside) and internal suppliers on components feasibility, development, and integration.

What Skills You Need


  • 1 or more years of vehicle electrical system design and integration experience.
  • Experience with electrical component development, wiring harness design, schematic development, and a good understanding of the interaction between software/hardware.
  • Deere process experience (ECM process, Workflow, WindChill, Root Cause Analysis, NCCA).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Provide clear concise oral / written communication.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 15%.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience developing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using 3D CAD tools and schematic software.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material for vehicle systems.
  • Agriculture or other off-highway vehicle development experience and operator experience.
  • Experience implementing systems engineering practices.
  • Experience leading design work performed by remotely located team members.
  • Advanced training in additional engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of general product development processes, root cause analysis, 3L5Y.
  • Hands on Experience with electrical component and systems troubleshooting.

Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline (Megatronics, Robotics).
