Job Description:


Summary:



The Vice President of Retail Banking will direct and oversee all aspects of retail operations in order to acquire, retain and grow its deposit customer base.



 



The successful candidate will lead all functions related to traditional retail banking, branch deposit generation, customer service, back office operations and overall branch management. 



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 



 



Retail Banking




  • Directs all back office administration of banking operations including account maintenance, cash letter settlements and wire transfers and ACHs file processing.


  • Understands operational functions and regulatory compliance for branch administration and retail back office to include wire transfer, proof and transit, ACH (RDFI and ODFI) and ATM administration, Online Banking and Online Account Opening.


  • Oversees IRA administration and required reporting and mandatory distributions.


  • Manages the daily operations of two full service branches and one limited purpose branch.


  • Exhibits extensive knowledge of retail banking tools and systems.


  • Acts as bank liaison between core system providers and banking staff (commercial loans and deposits) as it pertains to system updates and correspondence, etc.


  • Monitors, guides and assists staff to ensure quality resolution of problems and/or errors on customer accounts.


  • Issues and interprets operating policies. Reviews and answers correspondence.


  • Makes recommendations regarding operational system configurations and implements upon these changes as agreed.


  • Responsible for testing new products and services as well as trouble shooting system issues.


  • As new processes and systems are implemented, trains or coordinates training efforts to ensure company employees are trained on proper use and troubleshooting techniques.


  • Identifies the need for system updates, procures new vendors; negotiates and administers contracts for the provision of products and services.


  • Maintains current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with bank policies and procedures.


  • Ensures problem resolution balances client services and risk management.


  • Provide periodic reports to Sr. Management and the Board.


  • Work with external and internal auditors and examiners.


 



Leadership / General




  • Develops management and staff through coaching and training resources


  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination


  • Maintains current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
