Department's Website:https://offcampus.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:As a telephone outreach peer mentor, you will be assigned a list of freshman students to call throughout the spring semester. You will help your mentees identify issues that may be preventing them from succeeding in college, and help them find solutions.

This position will be ON-CAMPUS as long as campus is open.Qualifications:

Salary Information:$11.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Must be enrolled full or part-time University of Arkansas degree-seeking undergraduate rising sophomore, junior, or senior

3.0 cumulative GPA or above
-
Telephone polling, telemarketing, sales, and/or customer service experience
-
Outgoing and confident - please be very comfortable picking up the phone and calling a stranger
-
Exhibit ease in communicating with students over the phone and via email and possibly discussing difficult topics
-
Listening Skills
-
Mandated reporter - you will be responsible for reporting certain types of concerns about students
-
Organized and detail-oriented - all interactions must be logged accurately and promptly

Experience in an office setting and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Teams, Excel and Outlook
