POSITION SUMMARY:
The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients of all ages primarily in an acute care, and ambulatory setting. This position works closely with the laboratory and patient care teams. Work situations require a high level of phlebotomy expertise. This position requires a service-oriented individual who can establish good, positive, and effective relations with all patients and staff, who has exceptional organization skills, pays attention to detail, and uses discretion and good judgment in decision-making. Internal contacts include MHS staff and management. External contacts include patients, patient s families, and physicians

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Recent phlebotomy experience preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible
ASCP or NCA certification preferred
