JOB SUMMARY:

The Competitive Intelligence Data Analyst supports the Product Marketing department s competitive intelligence data-gathering and benchmarking functions. Under the direction of the [Competitive Intelligence Data Supervisor], the position will focus on the collection, analysis, and presentation of market intelligence in support of the department s efforts. The position will create and maintain databases that track both the sales and illustrated performance of competitor products. The position will support the overall field support role primarily covered by the members of the Competition Unit, as well as backup for the Case Design department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support Product Marketing by:

* Using actuarial software (currently MG-ALFA) to build and maintain Excel tools used to identify products competitive positioning and other internal analysis;

* Creating monthly and quarterly sales reports with historical trendline analysis;

* Reverse engineering competitor products to better position our products;

* Updating the Competition Playbook with analysis and talking points for recruiters and case designers;

* Searching and analyzing new competitor product filings;

* Providing competitive case design support for both internal and external customers;

* Supporting the Competition Unit in point of sale competitive support

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:

* Bachelor s degree required with emphasis in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or equivalent

* Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Complex problem-solving and issue resolution skills

* Programming skills a plus

* Past research or analytic working experience a plus

* Industry experience preferred but not required
