Job Responsibilities
Manages the lab operations team to work closely with Process Development, Hardware Engineering, and Software Engineering department's on R&D activities and customer demos/commits. Will be the main point of contact with Process Engineers / Managers and Technology Directors. Will be the POC and will manage escalations with internal and external staff. Will be the POC for holding weekly priorities meetings and following weekly priorities set for the lab. Responsible for strict adherence to all safety protocols and ensuring staff is current with all required safety training and certifications. Will be responsible for ensuring that correct training is available to the team as lab equipment changes and evolves. Will be responsible for keeping track of all training records for their team to ensure compliance. Will be main POC for shift conflict resolution. Designs and maintains the personnel work schedule/shifts.

  • Responsible for the overall management of a business unit's internal Applications Lab support activities and infrastructure, including capacity planning, utilization and maintenance of lab systems and metrology to meet program requirements.
  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate Supervisor/Managers.
  • Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Manages training programs to ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures. Oversees technicians that repair and maintain R&D tools.
  • Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Interfaces with Finance relative to business unit forecasting, financial targets and metrics. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.
  • Interfaces with Facilities to conduct BU and R&D capacity and facilities requirements planning.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

Minimum Qualification
Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, entrepreneurial environment. Resourceful, with the ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities. Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and customers and the entire spectrum of the business unit's development groups.


  • Educational level: Bachelor's degree (Engineering Field) and 7+ years of equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years management experience managing groups of 10 or more senior technicians or engineers
  • Minimum technical skills required: 7+ years of equivalent industry experience
  • Previous experience: 7+ years electro-mechanical experience
  • Other essential qualifications: Microsoft Suite experience, ability to pass APR/SCBA requirements
