Job Description Summary:

The Sr Mgr, Application, End User Services supports and manages all licensing and renewal contracts for application services across the organization. This includes overseeing technology spending, managing a repository of applications, and managing vendor relationships. They will deliver applications according to plan and within budget, and to ensure licensing compliance.

The Sr Mgr, Application, End User Services will also work with IT leadership and the business to define and implement the software request process. They will analyze how the departments operate to identify possible application solutions when requested, as well as bring in specific teams when needed. They will need to be aware of the latest software developments and think of ways that software can be applied to make the business more efficient and successful.

The Sr Mgr, Application, End User Services will also work with Desktop Engineers to provide day-to-day application support to employees for all internal/external computer systems software. Communicates requirements to both technical and nontechnical personnel. May recommend software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Will be responsible for managing training sessions designed to educate the end users about standard and specialized applications.

The Sr Mgr, Application, End User Services supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary duties/responsibilities:


  • Manages the maintenance and tracking of software licenses.  

  • Participates in the managing, tracking, utilization, and reporting (monthly audits) of software assets.

  • Maintain asset management system, keeping it up to date for all software assets through their life cycle, including license renewal.

  • Ensures collection and maintenance of accurate Software Licensing information to address software compliance and inventory.

  • Responds to requests from end users for specific software asset management data information.

  • Responds to other queries over the phone, remotely or when necessary in person.

  • Interact with vendors, follow procedures, and maintain accurate records.

  • Aid in negotiating contracts with software vendors.

  • Work with vendors to ensure latest versions of applications are being used and if there is any impact to other applications or processes.

  • Removes licenses during the offboarding process.

  • Train or manage training for groups across the organization on using various software packages.

  • Interact with all business groups and employees.

  • Aid Desktop Engineers with software installations, requesting software for users from appropriate vendors, or guiding users through the installation process.

  • Aid Desktop Engineers on creating packages for Ivanti.

  • Coordinate with users, technical teams, and senior management throughout network site(s).

  • Collaborates with team members to share information and best practices, to build knowledge management within the team.

  • Create, maintain and update applicable technical documentation and records.

  • Assists in developing and creating standard operating processes to continuously improve IT.

  • Follows standard operating processes and best practices for all service situations.

  • Keeps clients informed of software outages and statuses; provide and recommend alternative use/workarounds during outages.

  • Responsible for project participation including software upgrades, service improvement initiatives and service requests.

  • Responsible for learning and utilizing new services and products or changes to existing services and products.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED


  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.

  • Support Mobile Devices (iPhones, Androids and the occasional Blackberry Device).

* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.

  • Requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.


  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Fluent in English. Spanish speaking a plus.

  • Must have experience with a software management tool

    *Physical requirements (only note if the job requires physical capacity beyond general office work)
