As a Project Manager Electrical, you will be responsible for job site management and oversee the administrative and technical aspects of construction projects electrical construction scope of work.

District Overview

Kiewit's Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty! Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast including Alaska and Hawaii.

This means your Kiewit adventure is custom-designed to meet our shared needs. This position is based out of 2200 Columbia House Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington; and typically involves 50%+ travel.

Responsibilities

Develop a vision and strategic plan for the Electrical Division of the Northwest District to lead them into entering a new market

  • Provide oversight and be accountable for the electrical scope for all NW projects, both on the get work and build work side and ensure business needs are valid and correctly prioritized

  • Track business performance and project progress and be responsible for profit and losses of the division

  • Provide championship for the electrical initiative, selling and marketing the area throughout the organization

  • Oversee the whole project management process from approving project deliverables to initiating project reviews and ensure risk are continuously assessed and mitigated

  • Pinpoint opportunities to reduce overall costs and improve supplier performance

  • Identify potential conflicts or issues and facilitate solutions (e.g. resource loading, priority clashes)

  • Establish structure of the organization then recruit, train, and manage the Electrical team to ensure business needs are met

  • Provide mentorship to future builders and continue to grow the team

  • Drive continuous improvement within the district whether it's policies, procedures or reporting

  • Build strong relationship with other Operational Leaders of the Northwest District and foster effective team work between leadership and staff

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including the client, vendors and subcontractors

  • Identify, assess, and inform the District of internal and external issues that affect the business

  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization in community and industry activities to enhance the Northwest Districts community profile

  • Ensure safety and quality are prioritized throughout the division

    Qualifications



  • Electrician, Electrical Engineering Degree or similar

  • 10 -15 + years of experience in the construction industry, leading electrical scope of work

  • Record of building high performing teams

  • Extensive experience leading get work and build work teams for infrastructure projects

  • Experience leading multi-million dollar contracts, including estimating, ownership of operations, project administration, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects

  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity

  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

  • Ability to travel as business requires

  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future
