An exciting growth opportunity has recently opened for an Assistant Nursing Director to oversee the clinical performance and operations of the Interventional Radiology (IR) Services at this excellent Kansas City Area hospital.

Reporting to the Administrative Director of Surgical and Cardiac Services, the IR Services Assistant Director will play a crucial role in the growth of this procedural department and in the health of the community. As the clinical and administrative leader for a continually growing catheterization lab, the Nursing Manager will help spearhead care coordination and continuum between the various units in this technologically advanced department which conducts over 120 procedures weekly.

As the clinical leader for the Interventional Radiology Lab, you’ll get to serve as the mentor and leader to a strong team of RNs and Technologists. From CCRN ICU Nurses and Cardiac/Vascular Certified Registered Nurses, to the Cath Lab Technologists and CNAs, the Critical Care / Cath Lab Nursing Manager will develop and implement educational initiatives meant to draw from evidence-based practices and unit-based experience.

From an administrative point-of-view, the IR Unit Assistant Director will oversee staffing and scheduling the RNs and support staff for this busy 10+ suite department and more than 50 FTEs. An important facet of taking on this role will be budget and business development, so prior management experience in IR, Cath, or Procedural services is a must. Optimizing traffic in the catheterization lab with the patient flow and employee staffing will be a wonderfully challenging project to take on as a new room is added over the next year.
