Opportunity

The senior manager of meetings and events will report to the Director of Internal and Executive Communications while working closely and cross-functionally to collaborate with meeting and event peers and stakeholders to identify meeting and event goals, strategic communication and content needs and logistics. Budget management and overall coordination of events - from the initial planning phase to on-site or virtual platform execution, and event close out. This position will play a key role in helping to create an outstanding employee experience and a great place to work.

What you're up to:

Fully manage events from concept to execution, including creative development, strategic communications and content development, overall production, project management and contracting, including: venue sourcing, design and decor production, AV and technical management, entertainment and catering management, pre- and on-site event logistics, vendor and team management.

Lead planning and execution of monthly leadership team meetings, annual two-day offsite leadership conference, multiple all-employee events and special projects as needed.

Oversee budgets from draft to reconciliation, ensuring events are meticulously managed and delivered on target. Submit, track and report associated costs for event budgeting and forecasting to ensure success.

Bring insight, creativity and knowledge of trends to keep events fresh, innovative and exciting.

Plan and collaborate with internal partners to set yearly event strategy and schedule.

Develop and update event guidelines, processes and other tools.

Enhance the use of analytics tied to communications and events, capturing key metrics for operational use across the Internal Communications team and/or organization.

Manage work streams within internal project management tools, intranet sites and event apps i.e. Dynamic Signal, Monday.com, MS Events/Stream, Eventbrite, Yammer.

Own and lead special and/or overflow major projects as needed.

Be a brand champion by looking at all projects through the lens of employee experience.

Manage and mentor team members to learn, grow and contribute to a high-performing team.


The Senior Manager of Meetings and Events will have an extensive track record of developing and successfully implementing meetings and events of all sizes, as well as creative and experiential concepts. Ideally, the candidate will have:

Big picture thinking with great attention to detail
-
A minimum of 10-15 years of experience with planning and executing meetings and events and/or creative oversight as part of a communications team

Bachelors degree or relevant certifications and extensive expert experience (i.e. CMP, PMI, CSEP, DES)
-
Experience advising C-level executives and designing, building and implementing creative, comprehensive communication vehicles that use a variety of methods and media
-
A creative mind that challenges the status quo and fosters unique approaches to experiences and employee engagement

Ability to influence and build commitment to our vision, mission and goals

Outstanding verbal and written communications skills

Strong interpersonal communications skills and relationship management experience

Ability to track multiple meeting and event programs with a wide range of deliverables as they proceed from design through execution in a fast-paced, high-change environment

Positive and proactive self-starter and collaborator who can manage and prioritize competing priorities and tight deadlines

Ability to work well with large and diverse teams

Ability to work under pressure and manage time with consistently shifting workflow

This role will require some travel (less than %)
