Job Description
The Sr. Director of Global Benefits is responsible for enterprise oversight of our U.S., APAC and EMEA benefits programs. This role manages the full scope of U.S. benefits programs and partners with regional teams to drive the benefits strategy including health (medical, dental and vision), retirement, executive deferred compensation, life and disability, and ensures that plan design and costs fit into the overall Total Rewards strategy. Manages global programs, including EAP, Medical Benefits Abroad, ESPP design and Business Travel Accident, and facilitates consistent, global communications. Day to day administration and compliance of programs are managed locally and through vendor partners. Reporting to the Managing Director, Total Rewards, this role is a strategic partner on the Rewards leadership team and a leader/mentor to Benefits and HR professionals throughout the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the benefits plan strategy and wellness design, renewal planning and negotiations; explore and recommend benefits plan design changes to support the business inclusion strategy
  • Partners with internal stakeholder and external consultants to ensure benefits offerings are relevant, flexible, cost-effective, and competitive with local practices and aligned with business and talent strategies
  • Manage the U.S 401(k) Committee including preparation of the agenda and materials for the meetings and serving as a core team member interacting with the Treasurer, CFO, VP of General Legal, CHRO and Managing Director of Total Rewards
  • Manage Open Enrollment of Employee Benefits Plans
  • Oversee audits and manage all required plan testing/filing including 401(k), STD, Health plans and 5500 reporting of benefit programs
  • Demonstrated strong vendor management, partnering with global broker and regional service providers
  • Manage outsourced U.S. benefits plan administration (health and welfare and leaves of absence), communications and service delivery/helpdesk
  • Manage the global EAP and LiveWell programs implementing locally relevant resources globally through regional partners, effective employee communication and vendor management
  • Manage the Global business travel program which includes global medical plan, AD&D, ISOS, and partners closely with global security, global mobility and global travel
  • Support M&A and geo vision expansion strategies

Additional Responsibilities


  • Reviews and analyzes benefits trends and advises management on the state of benefits worldwide, demonstrating an understanding of the market dynamics, key competitor benefit plan design, and industry trends.
  • Partners closely with key leaders across the business: domestic and regional leaders, HRBPs, Finance, Payroll, Mobility and Legal to understand business needs.
  • Makes recommendations and decisions that create a strategic advantage and support Lam's business and talent strategies
  • Recognizes and addresses company-wide implications of programs and initiatives
  • Ability to negotiate and sell major initiatives to senior management
  • Ability to see broad strategic HR issues and apply rewards programming/recommend alternative solutions

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business/equivalent.
  • 10+ years of U.S. and International benefits management experience with at least 5 years of staff management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of global benefits practices
  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated business and HR acumen
  • Strong project management, innovation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing ambiguity and risk
  • Strong vendor management and budget management experience
  • Excellent coaching and team building skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed
