The Dental Assistant will assist providers in the Department of Periodontics with the care and treatment of departmental patients, operate the clinical dispensary, and support patient care management.

Responsibilities include chairside assisting, sterilization of operatories and instruments, inventory management, assigning and recording surgical assist cases to dental students. Additional responsibilities include, taking radiographs and photographs, contacting and scheduling patients, receiving patients upon arrival, and facilitating the completion of patient satisfaction surveys.

This individual must be highly motivated and responsible with the ability to multi-task, meet established deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.

Completion of formal dental assisting program is required in addition to HS diploma/GED. Two additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of formal dental assistant program. Radiographic certification as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
