Job Responsibilities

As a Software Test Engineer, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Torrance) you will provide Software Engineering Test & Validation of John Deere's line of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers. Specific areas include validation of advanced navigation algorithms, Baseband performance and configuration for all GNSS receiver testing. In-office test/support 80% of the time with 20% spent outside in test vehicles when needed to support dynamic testing.

• Work with Software Engineering to define Test setup and metrics, standardize test plans, and data analysis tools.
• Execute product verification and validation testing in both lab and field environments.
• Diagnose and solve software defects.
• Coordinate and review test results from team member tasks, which includes periodic bug review meetings to ensure software development and program/product management understand issues clearly.
• Provide daily assistance and guidance for team on scheduled tasks/bugs, which may involve working with non-technical team members in order to understand customer facing issues.

What Skills You Need

• 2 or more years of experience in GNSS Receiver software validation and test plan development.
• 2 or more years of experience with software development life cycle including test plan creation, test execution, and reporting/tracking software defects.
• Experience working with validation and/or verification testing of requirements, system and regression-level testing.
• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Professional experience with Matlab, Python and C/C++ languages.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong reporting/presentation skills.
• Experience with Agile Software Development Methodology.
• Ability to work off-shift hours as required.
• Ability to travel up to 10 - 25% domestically.
