Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Learning Designer will create learning solutions that meet the needs of the modern learner, incorporate the best of design thinking, and deliver via the most effective media (i.e., instructor-led, Learning Management System (LMS) driven, learning-on-demand).  This position will take guidance from Precision Oncology Leadership on design projects, requirements, and will work with various subject matter experts (SMEs) to execute.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Partner with the Sales Training Managers and SMEs to recommend the best format for delivering learning solutions based on objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Design and modify training to engage learners specific to sales training; including infographics, e-learning, social learning to job aides, role plays, and gamification.

  • Assist in the selection of appropriate learning technologies to aid in delivery of learning solutions; including Articulate, Captivate, Photoshop, Sketch, and SharePoint.

  • Develop and maintain visual and instructional design standards for learning solutions integrated throughout the LMS.

  • Engage and interact with sales and marketing leadership to pilot and validate learning experience strategies and tactics.

  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to ensure learning solutions stay relevant and impactful.

  • Assist in the evaluation of learning solutions and data collection related to key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of development strategies and plans.

  • Ability to lead multiple priorities based on changing business needs.

  • Ability to tailor training/presentation based on audience.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other groups and key partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and effectively connect with others.

  • Self-starter and results oriented.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong project management skills to aid in the organization, planning, implementation, and execution of learning initiatives.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to travel 25% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Marketing, Communication, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience (i.e., Training Technical Writing, Education, Technical Design, Human Resources).

  • 1+ years of experience in Organizational Development/Learning Development or Instructional Design.

  • Ability to provide examples of instructional design work.

  • Demonstrated ability to distill high-level scientific information into easily understood concepts for an audience with diverse educational backgrounds and experience.

  • Proficient working knowledge of adult learning principles with a demonstrated ability to apply those principles in a medical environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience.

  • Sales training experience.

  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies; including the needs of the modern learner as a consumer of information.

  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications; including, but not limited, to PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, and Storyline Articulate.

  • Ability to convert information into easily used and understood text and graphics.
