Sentrillion is seeking a talented Database Architect in Ashburn, VA. The DBA plays a key role in the Enterprise Architecture team. The DBA will be responsible for the project management, strategic direction, and resource management necessary for the maintenance and ongoing development of the database systems.

Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership in coordinating and reviewing the business process analyses, needs assessment, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with the enterprise business initiatives.

- Develop database migration strategy for very large Oracle databases to AWS cloud taking into account data retention, future growth, data replication, cost and reliability.

- Relies on experience and judgment to assigns work to team members to completion dates.

- Responsible for the orientation, coordination of training, assigning and checking the work of team members.

- Responsible for the organization's data management, security, and migration initiatives

- Examines the organization's current data management systems and identifies opportunities to enhance performance and prepare for growth.

- Works with Enterprise Architecture team and assists in development of policies for standardizing systems, development tools and security practices.

- Coordinates with application architects to move entire (full stack) applications into the cloud.

- Design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.

- Identifies requirements, researches options, designs and implements solutions at a leadership level for the application included in the portfolio

- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk assessments.

Required Qualifications:

- A current, active CBP-BI or TS security clearance is required.

- 12-15 Years of experience in database design and development.

- 5 - 7 years experience with configuring and managing Oracle database.

- Expert level knowledge of all aspects of SQL, Oracle, MarkLogic, AWS RDS, Postgres, AWS DMS, Oracle Data guard, Golden Gate

- Experience in migration from on-prem data center to public cloud (AWS, Azure).

- Experience in decomposition of Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers to migrate to Postgress or MySQL

- Designs and implements the data extraction, data load, and database synchronization routines and functions. ETL.

- Analyzes and makes recommendations for improvements to existing software regarding database performance, stability, usability and scalability.

- Defines and implements database security, audit, and resource allocation policies and procedures. Designs and implements viable database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies and mechanisms.

- Monitors and optimizes database instance using database administration tools, SQL scripts, and database utilities

- Provides guidance and support for data encryption at rest and in transit

- Excellent communication and written skills

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Required to have a current, active CBP-BI or TS security clearance.

- Ability to work designated schedule, as well as maintain attendance and punctuality.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.

- Must be a self-starter, strong leader, and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

- Able to travel by air, automobile or train as necessary to CONUS CBP and Sentrillion locations.
