Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Scientist to join our Ashland LLC, Specialty Ingredients business at our Merry Hill, NC location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality Control function. This position will report to Quality Control Supervisor.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure quality technicians execute analytical procedures as stated in production sample schedules.  


• Interpret, review and approve analytical data.


• Identify method and instrument errors for robust 24-hour production.



• Assist in technology transfer and process improvement activities.




• Routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.




• Review of batch records to ensure accuracy and compliance with cGMP.




• Maintain sample retain inventories.




• Monitor lab supply inventory.




• Perform analytical method development.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Science related


• 3-5 years in quality lab supporting production


• 1-2 years working with HPLC and GC instrumentation


• Working knowledge using the Microsoft Office Suite

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

• Six Sigma certification if preferred


• Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System


• Experience using SAP software
