Facilities Maintenance Manager at Goodwill of Colorado

Job Description:

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to support our Operations in Southern and Western Colorado as well as the Southern Front Range Corridor (including Monument, Castle Rock, Parker and Southern Metro Denver)!  

Compensation:  $55,000 to $60,000 Annually DOE - strong benefits package to include paid holidays vacation, medical, dental, Retirement Matching, and more!

Experience in Facilities Management in a maintenance, industrial, plant or hospital environment is required including planning and budgeting for the department.  Must have extensive staff management experience to include hiring, training, supervising and disciplining staff.

OBJECTIVE:

 To plan for and carry out all actions necessary to maintain Goodwill property and equipment in an efficient, safe, and clean condition and to direct the efforts of personnel assigned for this purpose in order to support the mission of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. 

Three to 5 years in facilities management, maintenance, industrial, plant, or hospital environment.  Must have supervisory experience.  Must also have working knowledge of electrical, gas, water, and compressed air & HVAC systems.  Two years in estimating medium repair and construction projects ($5,000 or less).  Detailed knowledge of industry practices concerning design layout and bills material.   

Ability to read, understand, and apply city, county, and state building and safety codes. Ability to maintain preventative maintenance schedules and technician work load and schedule. Ability to work with BAS (building automation software) and CMMS (computerized maintenance mgt. system). Waste line collection maintenance, plumbing systems repair, multi-phase carpentry, electrical/ electronic work, welding, HVAC, preventative maintenance abilities.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

 General


  • Work closely with the Director of Facilities to ensure that proper priorities are established and that all other activities of Goodwill are coordinated reference maintenance matters. Leads others in accomplishing maintenance activities.

    • Plan daily and weekly requirements and assign work to the most appropriate person.

    • Utilize CMMS and BAS.

    • Assist in determining the need for and selection of new and used equipment in operations center and stores.

    • Estimate the cost of all labor and material needed for maintenance projects. Must estimate with great accuracy so that management may make the correct decision between in-house and contract options.


  • Hire, supervise, and discipline staff assigned to the department.

    • Conduct personnel interviews.

    • Conduct employee evaluations.

    • Train all department personnel on all safety and operations for each machine/tool.

    • Schedule staffing to accommodate special and seasonal requirements.

    • Manage the activities of all assigned maintenance personnel.

    • Perform monthly walk-through of all sites

    • Perform monthly expense reports. Review and submit for each technician. .


  • Follow through on maintenance requests with submitting staff member and give report at weekly Operations meetings.

Relationship Management


  • Provide leadership, training, and support to all subordinates in all areas.  Ensure continuity of operations at all levels.  Ensure open communication. 

Planning & Budgeting


  • Prepare annual budget and maintain expenses within the budget.
