The Role

The Salesforce Technical Architect is responsible for the translation of business requirements to system/technical requirements, overall architectural design, solution implementation assistance, and system integration of the Salesforce application in the Korn Ferry environment.  The role requires both hands-on practical work and technical leadership.  The Salesforce Technical Architect is part of the Enterprise Applications team in the Information and Technology Group (ITG).

The successful candidate will possess excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.  Be proactive, rather than reactive, have unwavering ethics and integrity, be flexible and responsive with the ability to work in a matrixed, geographically dispersed environment.  A well-developed results-oriented philosophy and work ethic; the ability to “get things done”.   The qualified candidate must also have experience assisting with the planning, organizing, and coordinating large-scale software development/implementation of business applications for medium-to-large organizations. Experience working on international projects for a global company is a big plus. Experience with information security and data privacy, including Safe Harbor data protection standards, is a huge plus.

Key Accountabilities


  • Design and implement scalable technical solutions across Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Cloud and Customer / Partner Communities

  • Practical experiences in the entire SDLC from solution definition, solution architecture definition to design, development and testing of the SFDC application

  • Effectively partner with technology teams to define and implement scalable and sustainable technical solutions translating business requirements into systems, services, and solutions using Salesforce technologies with best practices in mind

  • Assist in customization of SFDC screens and integration, workflow, and security

  • Assist in the definition of overall Salesforce architectural principles and framework.

  • Help design, create and enhance application architecture and shape the architectural vision and roadmap for the organization

  • Work in a consultative fashion to improve communication, collaboration, and alignment amongst teams inside and outside of the IT organization

  • Assist in establishing best practices, standards, and operational guidelines, with focus on continuous improvement of platform reliability and serviceability

  • Become subject matter expert in driving industry best practices for the Salesforce ecosystem and associated integrated tools. Stay current on Salesforce releases, new features, product roadmaps and 3rd party applications

  • Provide process flow analysis and process redesign as needed

  • Assist in the delivery of SFDC cloud-based application architectures and development, integration, distributed data management, and application testing

Skills & Experience

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Salesforce development and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with rapidly expanding customer base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities. Additional preferred qualifications are:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Salesforce CRM

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering required, MIS or equivalent preferred

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities

  • Desired certifications: Salesforce Administrator certification, Salesforce Developer certification, Salesforce Advanced Developer, Salesforce Certified Technical Architect

  • Experience with CPQ & Quote to cash processes preferred

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment

  • Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools preferred

  • Must have hands-on experience in some of the following technologies: Force.com, Lightning UI, APEX, VisualForce, SOAP, RESTful, .NET and related technologies (JSON, XML, etc.)

  • Experience working and dealing with large international organizations and related legal and tax complexities is a plus
