A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Associate Business Planning Analyst position in the Infrastructure segment of Valmont Industries. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will apply analytics to achieve the most efficient and economical value while at the same time provides ease of use delivered to Valmont's business segments worldwide, designing positive user experiences.

The Associate Business Systems Planning Analyst obtains requirements, analyzes process flow for system optimization, coordinates with business resources internally and externally, tracks and measures progress, and provides testing assistance and follow up support to the customer as required. The Associate Business Systems Planning Analyst must also understand existing systems used by the underlying business processes to insure that standards are maintained.

This role supports a front line position with our business users and requires excellent communication skills including training, testing, and project coordination. Duties include coordinating scope definition and writing functional requirements, training and process documentation, while utilizing Valmont lean practices. Limited end user customer training may also be required as necessary. Quality assurance testing may be required in conjunction with project member and internal customer testing.

Essential Functions:

* This Individual Contributor position reports to the Senior Director Business Architect.

* Up to 5% business travel may be required (domestically/internationally) with overnight stays.

* Interviews, gathers, records and analyzes specific data and system needs from multiple sources

* Builds relationships with key stakeholders

* Utilizes principles and methods for curriculum and training creation, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects

* Business and management principles and tools involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources

* Lean tools, practices and methods applied to achieve streamlined processes

* Develops metrics to communicate both internally to IT management and peers as well as externally to consumers and content authors

* Agile development methodologies and understanding of SCRUM Master role utilized

* Project plan methodology used for sequencing complex tasks and orienting execution for efficiency

* Applies deductive and inductive reasoning appropriate to various situations

* Demonstrate knowledge of the product lines, processes and systems, and serve as a technical leader for assigned systems and/or service development

* Evaluates order process

* Assist with development of projects plans to meet deadlines for major initiatives, drive various groups and cross-functional projects to promote smooth implementation of initiatives

* Translates business requirements into process documentation/artifacts, and occasional system requirements

* Design and program Agile boards and processes to support business team productivity

* Continuous improvement coaching and facilitation across the organization

* Continuous constraint analysis resolution, and systemization - process of ongoing improvement

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

* Preferred Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience

* Strong interviewing skills, ability to gather, record and analyze specific data and system needs from multiple sources

* Strong listening skills with detailed note-taking ability

* Strong problem solving skills

* MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong initiative; a self-starter

* Demonstrated ability to effectively complete multiple and concurrent assignments independently or as part of a team

* Excellent time management skills and ability to meet aggressive project deadlines

* Strong presentation skills

* Problem-solving and analytical ability

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, servant leader, priority focused, dynamic environment

* Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training creation, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects

* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources

* Knowledge of Lean tools, practices and methods of applying lean techniques

* Ability to analyze business problems and develop solutions if required by the business

* Agile development methodologies and understanding of SCRUM Master duties/role

* Operational (Theory of) Constraint analysis

* Programming fundamentals (variables, conditional statements, data types/structures, Functions)

* Knowledge of data models and data modeling

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

* Valmont business systems and process knowledge

* Experience implementing an E-Commerce platform

* Experience administrating Salesforce Sales Cloud

* Technical experience with Jira

* Previous project management experience

* Three years of working knowledge of business systems and integrating requirements into systems

* Three years of Quality Assurance Testing in an IT environment

* Five years of experience functioning as a project team lead or project coordinator

* IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) Certification

* Lean or Six Sigma certification, concentrating on business process mapping of systems and information

* Certified Scrum Master

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. Minimal travel is required, up to 5%. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
