Job Description:

Produce machined parts by setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintain quality and safety standards; records; in addition to equipment and supplies.

Set-up and operate the following machines: VMC's, HMC's, TMC's, Co2 Lasers, Fiber Laser, Break Press and /or Robotic Welders.

Preform light program edit on Mills, Lathes, Lasers and /or Robotic Welders by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and simple trigonometry; proving part programs.

Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintains equipment by safely completing the daily preventive maintenance requirements.

Sets-up aforementioned machines by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, indicating vice or work piece, bar feeders, cutting conditions.

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards. Able to read micrometers and calipers.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Medically cleared to safely wear a respirator by a physician or licensed health care professional. Wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe boots.

Regular standing, walking, grasping, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.

Ability to perform work in conditions that include loud noises, confined spaces, hot and cold environments, fumes, dust, and on and around heavy moving machinery.

Ability to operate tools and equipment such as hand tools, measuring instruments, overhead crane, and forklift.

Ability to use arms and hands to perform activities involving carrying, holding, grasping, twisting/turning, and pushing/pulling and reaching above shoulder level.

The employee must have ability to regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

1+ years' experience in CNC Machining with basic understanding of blueprint reading

Associate degree or technical school a plus

Fluency in reading, speaking, and understanding English

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must be open to working shifts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Thorough knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) O.E.M. maintenance instructions and procedures

Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) rules

Able to read and understand safety and environmental rules, technical manuals, work reports, specifications, schematics, and drawings. Follow oral instructions to determine work assignments and materials and equipment needs.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.

Ability to work overtime to support production demands.
