The Sales Applications Engineer is responsible for technical product inquires and application specific customer support. This position partners with the sales channel or works directly with the customer to assist in definition and utilization of semiconductor wafer probing solutions with signal applications from DC to microwave. Product and application training to users of FormFactor products in the field is a key function of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides pre and post-sale support to customers and sales channel, solving applications requirements for semiconductor wafer probers.

- Defines application-specific solutions based on customer device needs and manages both customer and factory teams to successful results.

- Performs product and application training events for customers and sales channels.

- Participates in trade shows and seminars.

- Makes recommendations regarding product improvement, new products and quality.

- Writes and documents applications via Applications Notes, Briefs and White Papers.

- Provides input on business trends and new product opportunities.

- Sorts through multiple demands and independently sets priorities based on customer and business dynamics.

- Is required to travel up to 30% of the time, occasionally with no advanced notice.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or equivalent work experience in a similar field. Preference will be given to candidates with Master's degree or additional training.

- Strong preference for candidate to have experience in DC and RF/Microwave measurements (e.g. S-parameter measurements using a network analyzer) with on-wafer probing experience being highly desirable.

- Knowledge of RF principles and RF calibration techniques is a plus.

- Experience in machine automation and computer programing will be valued.

- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.

- Demonstrated experience designing and providing presentations and training for clients.

- Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and with individuals of various degrees of technical knowledge and ability.
