SCHEDULE: Part-time

Oviedo Medical Center, the new 64-bed acute care hospital, provides a full range of healthcare services to east Seminole County and surrounding communities. Services include medical and surgical inpatient units, intensive care, medical cardiology, telemetry, cardiac catheterization, inpatient and outpatient surgery, women's services including labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary services, comprehensive diagnostic imaging and 24/7 emergency care. Oviedo Medical Center is designed with the patient in mind with personalized care, all private rooms and the newest medical technology available. Oviedo Medical Center is located at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Road and State Road 426.

OVIEDO MEDICAL CENTER IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A PATIENT SCHEDULING COORDINATOR TO JOIN OUR ENDOSCOPY TEAM. THIS POSITION WILL BE PART-TIME IN THE EVENINGS (3PM-7PM).

* Provides administrative clerical support for the day-to-day operations of the department. Contributes to optimizing customer satisfaction and the continuity and effective operation of the department.

* Coordinates daily patient scheduling. Responsible for providing customer focused, efficient and professional patient registration and order entry.

* Updates existing patient system information to ensure accuracy of demographic and insurance data. Obtains pre-authorization when needed from payor.

* Maintains proactive and effective communication with all members of the departmental team; communicates any concerns or issues regarding patient scheduling immediately.

* Composes, prepares and manages office correspondence, and hospital policies and procedures.

* Ensures departmental files, policy and procedure manuals, protocols, and reports for various hospital, state, and federal organizations are maintained and up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); Associates degree in Business or related field preferred.

* Minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience in patient registration, billing or collections in a hospital or physician office setting.

* BLS (Basic Life Support) required; or BLS Instructor 3/2016
