The Buyer is responsible for executing sourcing strategies and ensuring continuity of supply. This role will assist in managing on-going purchase order placement, order tracking, supplier follow-up and overall material inventory flow across the network to support efficient and day-to-day supply chain operations.

* Assures that material, supplies, and services are available as required and meet established goals through adherence to companies purchasing policies.

* Leads the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of suppliers and service providers through strategic sourcing, identification of capabilities, the creation of technical RFQ documents, proposal review and risk analysis.

* Procures production material, MRO materials, and services.

* Builds strong relationships with suppliers to leverage their collective knowledge and abilities to further Edwards business objectives.

* Engages suppliers to expedite goods when necessary and clearly communicates the appropriate details with all affected groups and coordinates follow-up plans.

* Analyzes and secures quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.

* Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.

* Analyzes and develops supply chain for ongoing improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and recommends, implements, and reports on improvement activity.

* Utilizes reports to ensure adequate inventory of purchased material is maintained to meet production requirements..
